ParaQuad Community Services

We aim to empower people with a spinal cord injury (SCI) to achieve their potential.

For over 45 years, ParaQuad NSW has provided services to people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities.

ParaQuad takes pride in offering services and products to assist people with an SCI or a similar disability have the same opportunities as everyone else to participate in the community.

ParaQuad NSW is a not-for-profit association and relies on the generous support from members of the community to allow it to provide these much needed services.

ParaQuad Community Services brings together three teams: (for more information click on the blue bars below)

1. Primary Health Care Team

working with:

•	People with SCI, their families and carers
•	Health professionals

focusing on:

•	Health Promotion Program: long-term health maintenance and improvement for people with SCI
•	Specialist Services: Supportive Care Program with a new Social Worker, Splinting Clinic, Consultancy Service, Hotline for Health Professionals (02) 8741 5674
•	Education & Training: Health professionals, people with SCI, families & carers

2. Community Housing Team

working with:

•	People with SCI
•	Local government areas
•	Housing & accommodation providers

focusing on:

•	Access: community access, advice to local government, home modifications
•	Suitable Housing: partnerships with housing providers, development of website for accessible housing
•	Education & Training: Community Housing package - education about what makes houses 'accessible'

3. Accommodation and Care Team

working with people with SCI, and focusing on:

•	Accommodation & Care: Ferguson Lodge, Community Housing, Berala/Boomerang House, Attendant Care Program
•	Education & Training: Attendant Carers, people with SCI, partnership with other service providers

ParaQuad Community Services is built on a solid foundation of:

•	Partnerships and liaison with other agencies working in the area
•	Sustainable funding
•	An expert and committed workforce
•	Quality services and a commiment to meeting clients' needs
