ParaQuad has been providing homebased personal care services since 1986. Our program is for people with a spinal cord injury or a similar physical disability.
What is Personal Care?
Personal care is home-based support and plays a vital role in the lives of people with high level physical disabilities by supporting them to:

ParaQuad’s personal carers can help with:

Who is eligible for ParaQuad’s Personal Care Services?
ParaQuad’s personal care service is available to all people with a physical disability who need in-home support, including those who have an Attendant Care package, those who receive funding from the government or insurance agencies and those who pay for their personal care needs themselves.
ParaQuad’s personal care service is available in both metropolitan and regional NSW and provides personal care for:

People who need help with everyday tasks so they can live as independently as possible in their own home |
| • |
People who care for someone with a physical disability and need to find a formal carer so they can go to work or have a break |
Our personal care service is continually being improved so we can help to maximise the independence of those receiving support.
Features of ParaQuad’s Personal Care Services
ParaQuad’s personal care program is tailored to suit the needs of every individual client and our carers are specially trained to provide high needs personal care.
Benefits of using ParaQuad’s personal care services are:
- The service is made-to-measure for every client’s individual needs, so it is very flexible
- The service is regularly assessed to ensure best practice is used to maximise the independence of clients
- Clients are involved in the choice of their personal carers
- Carers are employees of ParaQuad so all insurances, training and legislative requirements are provided by ParaQuad
- Carers are trained in high needs care, especially spinal cord injury
- Carers receive specific training in the delivery of personal care, including on-the-job training in clients’ homes.
- ParaQuad has over 20 years’ experience providing personal care support to people with spinal cord injuries and similar physical disabilities
- Clients can access the services of ParaQuad’s Primary Health Care team which provides a specialist consultancy service to adults with an acquired spinal cord injury, including nursing, occupational therapy and social work
