Scholarships
Scholarships for those with SCI
Current statistics suggest that fewer than 35% of people living with a spinal cord injury are able to gain employment. With the assistance of our corporate partners, our aim is to change this statistic for the better.
For over ten years ParaQuad has been providing scholarships to help those with SCI gain new skills needed to improve their employment opportunities and thus enjoy greater independence. This has been possible thanks to the generous support of the Australian Music Industry's
Golden Stave Foundation, and more recently NRMA Insurance.
Applications are now closed for 2007 NRMA Insurance & Golden Stave Scholarships.
ParaQuad NSW would like to congratulate the successful scholarship applicants for 2007. The NRMA scholarships, for tertiary study, were awarded to four people with SCI undertaking qualifications in psychology, IT, web design and teaching. Fifteen Golden Stave scholarships were awarded for 2007: to support people with SCI at school, university and sporting endeavours such as wheelchair basketball and archery. And a big thanks to NRMA Insurance and the music industry's Golden Stave Foundation, for making these scholarships possible.
Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship applications usually open around October each year for the following year. Visit our website then, or email us at scholarships@paraquad.org.au to be added to our mailing list. We can then notify you when applications open.
