Specialist training for Community Health
For Occupational Therapists
Enabling independence for clients with SCI
This is a full day workshop designed for Occupational Therapists working in the community with clients with a spinal cord injury. This workshop aims to give OTs an understanding of the functional capabilities following SCI and the considerations when facilitating clients to live independently in the community.
Content includes:
- The effects of spinal cord injury on body functions
- Anticipated level of independence following SCI
- Equipment to meet functional needs of different levels of SCI
- Management of 24 hour posture and pressure care in the community
- Maintenance of upper limb function
- Ageing with SCI
When: Wednesday 2 June 2010, 9.30am – 4.30pm
Where: ParaQuad NSW office, 6 Holker St, Newington
Cost: $100 (incl GST), includes course notes and lunch/refreshments. 10% discount applies for 2 or more people booking in from the same organisation.
